Plate Art
Inspired by the ancient Japanese technique of kintsugi, I use old, broken plates and give them a new life and new meaning.
My goal is not to repair the broken plates, but to give them a voice and let them tell their stories.
The plates I use come from all over the world, and the colours, patterns and designs on the plates often tell us a lot about the place they are from.
Each plate art piece takes about a month to complete, as the traditional process of kintsugi includes many time-consuming steps.
