Member of the Südtiroler Künstlerbund

I am happy to announce that I have joined the Südtiroler Künstlerbund- South Tyrol’s Association of Artists.

We artists work mostly alone, and therefore I think it is important to have such formal support and to be part of a local family of creative people.
I look forward to what our future together brings!

A very special project!

I started this year with a project, which I am sure I will remember for a long time.

I was asked by the Lebenshilfe Südtirol to work with a group of very special and talented artists in their Kunstwerkstatt Akzent in Bruneck for three months and to help them develop their artistic skills.

It turned out to be an amazing journey, not only for the ten participants, but also for myself. We had a lot of fun together and I was so overwhelmed by their work and positive attitude.

As an artist, I know myself how hard it is to step out of your comfort zone and try new things, and therefore I was so happy to be able to guide the artists on the next step in their artistic journey.

The project ended with a beautiful, colorful exhibition, and lots of happy faces. These are the moments when you feel the true power of art!

All different - all women!

I’m very happy and honored to have been asked to support this years edition of ‘Brixen Women’s Run’ with my art.

My painting “Fly away” will be presented to one of the race participants as the “Angelo Di Valeria” prize.

The artwork I created for this occasion, is about feeling free, letting go and leaving everything behind you.
My message is that all women should be content and in harmony with themselves.

Wall. Flowers. Mauer.Blumen.

I started this year by taking part in a residency for female artists at the fortress of Franzensfeste in South Tyrol. The theme of the residency was “Courage” and I decided to interpret this word using flowers.

Flowers in this project, became a symbol for women. Both grow in all types of situation, regardless of the circumstances around them, they push their way through, whether it’s sand, soil or stone. Even though flowers look delicate and fragile, they are actually very strong and very courageous. They withstand a lot of hardships and they bloom, giving us colour, love and happiness.

I made the flowers using paper, papier-mâché, wire, beads and wood. Each flower, just as each woman, is different and has its own character.

The contrast between the fortress and flowers was also very interesting and inspiring. A symbol of war, powerand masculinity joining hands with something colourful, delicate and feminine.

The title of the piece I created is “Wall.Flowers.” This refers to the flowers growing out of the stone, but also to the situation of many women, who are often left on the side. With my artwork, I would like to give recognition to these women.
